A Patient-Centric Funding Approach

Gateway for Cancer Research is one of the only nonprofits that exclusively funds Phase I and Phase II cancer clinical trials for patients of all ages, regardless of cancer type or stage. The organization invests in next generation science – research that is often underfunded, with strong potential to change standards of care.

Patient-Centered Research

At Gateway, everything we do is always and only about the patient. Patient representatives sit at every level of the organization, and clinician-scientists are incentivized  to place patients at the center of their work.

Transformational Science

Early phase clinical trials are at the forefront of the research and discovery process.  Gateway-funded trials bring potentially life-saving breakthroughs to the bedside of patients at renowned institutions around the world.

Holistic Treatment

Gateway funds integrative therapies that promote treatment while supporting quality of life. This evidence-based research combines conventional and complementary treatments to mitigate side effects and help improve treatment tolerance while combating the underlying disease.

Our Focus on Patients

At Gateway, we are committed to empowering patients to triumph over their disease. To ensure patient voices are being amplified in funded research, we require each trial to place patients at the center of their work.

All Gateway-funded trials should:

What Gateway is doing has extreme value and is very significant for us as investigators, as well as all the patients and their families who are in critical need of better therapies.
